This has been put in place so that you are better off. The only amount you’ll have to pay is a hurdle amount on motor theft and accident claims. That’s because in a world where insurance is like it should be, if your claim is lower than the specified amount, you won’t submit a claim! Unless of course, you’re claiming for a windscreen or radio, and here the normal excesses will apply.
